That Said, It's Still Pretty Trashy
There is a report that the arrest of Sarah Palin's future son-in-law's mother on drug charges may have been delayed in order to avoid embarrassing the Republican Vice Presidential candidate. If it's true, I'd just like to say: thanks.
Small-town cops shouldn't be able to disrupt a national election over a peripheral, tabloid beef like this. There are enough forces pulling us away from consideration of serious issues; a minor drug bust involving someone with no influence over governance should have no effect on choosing the leader of the free world.

I always thought of Alaska as this pristine, rugged frontier populated by folks in touch with nature and full of the frontier spirit that made this county great.
Now we find out it's pretty much white trash, smokin' meth, and shootin' stuff. Thanks, Sarah

When you spend any time in Alaska away from a cruise/tour, you find out in a hurry that the preserved parts are pristine and most of the human population is there because Missouri and the Appalachians are way to civilized. The problems in the Native villages are even worse. Huffing gasoline does even more physical damage to a body than meth.
