His detractors, generally liberal, believe he is suffering a personal moral failure.

Nope....it's still senility!

What I find amusing is that liberals think it's a moral failure for someone to pause from seeking a new job long enough to actually do the job he was hired to do. Not that I expect him to be the white knight riding into Washington to save the day, but when a crisis of this magnitude hits, I would expect members of both houses to actually, you know, show up for work every once in a while.

With that in mind, I don't think he is either being led astray nor exhibiting a personal moral failure. I think he is doing what he thinks is the right thing to do for the country, whether or not it costs him the election. I've never claimed to be a McCain supporter, but when he takes actions like these, it becomes a little easier to think about pushing the button next to his name come November.

He may not be the candidate I wish he was, but no one can say that he puts politics above what he thinks is best for the country. He takes the political hits from both sides no matter what the issue, from supporting the surge to suspending his campaign to work on a plan to fix this mess.

Hm. Isn’t there a slight problem with this theory when you think about crime? Don’t liberals blame outside forces (debt, unemployment, you name it) rather than personal evilness for crime while conservatives turn that around?

Marxism takes that liberal view of crime to the extreme: just get rid of crime with your perfect socialist utopia that will remove all outside forces that are the cause of crime.

I guess every sane person today believes that crime is a result of a mix of those two factors, hence you get a spectrum of different views, but I’m pretty confident that I would know where to rather place conservatives and liberals on this spectrum.

I find your theory very intriguing, it would only be interesting to know why, when it come to crime, your theory is turned upside down. I only noticed this now because you were applying your theory not to one nation as a whole, but a single person.

I look forward with joy to all your posts!!

Amazing isn't it?
