A 50-year old New York police lieutenant, Kieran Crowe, has been found guilty of sexual harassment and, I believe, being a New York kind of guy:
If there's something more New York than grabbing your crotch and hooting some variation of "hey bay-beee" I don't know what it is. Street pizza, maybe. I don't think the crotch grab has ever worked, but they keep trying.
Crowe, in his defense, claimed he had jock itch, but apparently had no explanation for the tongue thing. Maybe he was whistling for a cab.
Would there have been a harrasment case if the lieutenant was a straight woman who had stroked her crotch and wiggled her tongue at these guys? I think the fact that he was gay had a lot more to do with this lawsuit than the action itself.

I think, had a woman done it, it still would have been harassment. The thing is, none of the men would have complained.

The women I work with have always told me that it's not harassment if you like it.

Yes, I wasn't clear. There would have been a case for harassment, but not a lawsuit. Those guys would have loved the attention from a woman, but apparently not from a gay man.
