Orange County, California, is no longer solid.
“It is clear the youth (in 2008) were not buying what the Republican
Party was advocating,” said Scott Baugh, chairman of the Orange County
Republican Party. “Whether it was the message or the image is not
clear, but the message needs to change and the messengers need to be
young dynamic Republicans.”
If Republicans lose place like Orange County, they might as well fold up as a going concern.
Does any of this remind anyone of the state of the Democratic Party after President Reagan's election?
You do know Tom that there were conservative bloggers writing similar taunting posts after Bush won in '04.

I do know that. And I also know that there is no political party in the history of the world as capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory as the Democrats. Think about it: we're in the middle of screwing up giving hundreds of billions of dollars away, something that really doesn't seem possible.
I have no doubt but that the Democrats will figure out a way to screw up this golden opportunity. And even if they don't, the political pendulum will sway and they will be back on the outside, looking in. I give 'em 8 years, tops.
