And it occurred to me that it would take about five minutes for the toplessness of the waitresses to become a non-issue, or even kind of depressing.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me when I was a kid and we moved to Nevada. I couldn't believe that they actually had slot machines in the grocery store. After about a month they were just those things next to the bags of dog food at the front of the store.

I saw this story elsewhere and surfed immediately to this blog because I *knew* you'd be all over it.
