See? This is the problem with Twitter. That was a really good response, but it's 682 characters with spaces.

Now we're all microblogging, and we have even shorter attention spans than a twelve year old playing Nintendo. (If 12 year olds even do that any more. What do I know?)

I now have a follower who tweets things like: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments
that take our breath away." every three minutes. (Well, I used to have that follower, I just blocked her.)

It's the same thing, really --- kind of a drive-by pronouncement that, no matter how banal or wrong or stupid, goes unchallenged because we just run out of room.

Somewhere, someone must be updating their netiquette guide to help us through situations like this. Meantime, reply to Newt with a link to your post, and see how long HIS attention span is.
